Humility, while admirable and motivational, can also be your greatest downfall.
If you don’t blow your own horn, someone else will use it as a spittoon. — Kenneth H. Blanchard
For your business to grow, you need to be able to execute and communicate effectively. If you aren’t telling potential customers about all the benefits of your product or service, it is as if you do not have a product or service at all.
You may be in the habit of using phrases such as, “I don’t like talking about how good I am at what I do. I just execute,” or “My work speaks for itself.”
If that is the case, I hope you’re raking it in. I hope you are swimming in rivers of money and, please share your success story with us because the reality for most people is that execution without broadcasting will not do much for you. It will not bring in new customers or forge new business relationships .
I have heard people complaining, “How come that person makes more money than I do. My product/service/writing is better.” You know why? They talk about how good they are. Your customers want to know that they can trust you to deliver on your promises. Stats and social proof help you do that.
When people search for your name what do they find? Does it inspire confidence? One successful entrepreneur said, “Great execution and weak communication limit your impact.”
Start marketing yourself more. Start talking about what you bring to the table.
Takeaway
Being great isn’t enough, you have to show the world you are great. So, don’t just execute, broadcast.
Here’s to your success!
