Branding is an important part of a business strategy. When you build a brand you build leverage. If you want to build a brand you stand for there are factors you should take into account.

Before you begin you need to assess your strengths, your vulnerabilities, opportunities in the market and what your competitors are doing. Once you have this information, decide who you will need on your team and what resources will you need to execute your strategy.

1. Logo

Identify your brand personality and voice. Your logo design, colours and style should communicate what your brand stands for.

2. Website

When people conduct a search they want to be able to see a functioning website. This doesn’t mean pages and pages of images and text. Clean images and brief descriptions which communicate your message clearly are sufficient.

3. Social Media Identity

There must be consistency in how you present your brand on social media. Discuss topics you want to be known for and showcase your expertise in these areas. Your customers are looking to you for solutions to their problems so you need to be credible. Credibility arises from consistency and adhering to your core values.

4. Product or Service

Deliver a reliable, good quality product or service. Create compelling experiences that will make your customers want to come back for more. Build relationships with your customers by finding a way to stay in contact with them such as updates on new releases, involving them in community activities or getting them to participate in competitions.

5. Free Resources

Have a lucrative offer for your customers.

  • Who are your customers?

  • Where are they?

  • What do they do?

  • How do you solve their problem?

  • How do they interact with you?

Understand your customers and speak to them in a language that resonates with them. Relating compelling and believable stories is a great way of reaching out to them.
